The event will be inaugurated by Johnnie and Alexa Turnage, who will address an army of tech and clean energy innovators eager to transform the industry. The lineup of featured panelists includes Carla Walker-Miller, the founder and CEO of Walker-Miller Energy Services, one of the largest African American and woman-owned energy efficiency companies in the United States. Walker-Miller is also the visionary and organizer behind RECESS24. "RECESS24 will help advance equity for Black and Brown people by creating an on-ramp into the rapidly transitioning clean energy economy, showcasing experts, ideas, technologies, and connections to help drive the benefits of participation to those who have been historically excluded," she stated.

Joining her on the panel is Natalie King, founder and CEO of Dunamis Charge. Under her leadership, Dunamis Clean Energy Partners, LLC, and its subsequent venture, Dunamis Charge, Inc., have made significant strides in energy efficiency and environmental stewardship through LED lighting and electric vehicle (EV) charger production. Darren Riley, founder and CEO of Justair, will also share his insights. JustAir collaborates with environmental justice leaders, resident groups, governments, and public health advocates to make air quality information more accessible and ensure everyone has the right to breathe clean air.

These panelists will discuss their journeys into the clean energy sector and engage with an audience of eager innovators. The event will provide a platform for other clean energy companies to showcase their offerings, build partnerships, and even attract potential investors. Attendees will also have the opportunity to register for RECESS24, which is scheduled to take place from September 9-11, 2024, at Huntington Place in Detroit.

Black Tech Saturdays is dedicated to empowering Black tech communities nationwide, closing the racial wealth gap through tech-focused initiatives, and fostering diversity within the industry. By strategically driving economic growth, the initiative ensures prosperity for all, making it a vital prelude to the RECESS24 conference.
